Jind, 11 October (Hindustan Reporter). On the occasion of Dussehra festival in Jind city, Ravana's clan will be burnt at Arjun Stadium and Railway Junction Ground on Saturday. MLA Dr. Krishna Midha will be the chief guest at Arjun Stadium and Railway Junction. At the railway junction, the height of the effigy of Ravana prepared by Railway Ramlila Club will be 55 feet, while the height of the effigy of Ravana prepared by Sanatan Dharma Ramlila Club has been kept 45 feet and the height of the effigies of Kumbhakarna and Meghnath has been kept 50 and 45 feet. The special thing is that this time Ravana's neck will be seen rotating. Fireworks will be used in the effigies.
About Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand has been spent on the mannequins. A fair will also be organized during the Ravana Dahan program. To maintain law and order during Dussehra festival, the district police has increased vigilance in view of security in the district. Due to tight security, DSP rank officers will be deployed in all the Ravana burning sites of the district. DSP Geetika Jakhar has been appointed duty incharge in Jind. Apart from these, four platoons have been deployed on the grounds of Arjun Stadium and two platoons have been deployed on the grounds of Railway Junction. Two platoons each in Narwana and Safidon and one platoon each in Uchana and Garhi have been deployed for security arrangements. During this time, all the police station managers will be deployed on the occasion of Ravana Dahan in their respective areas. Police personnel have been deployed around the Dussehra sites.
Giving information on Friday, SP Sumit Kumar said that all the PCR and police riders, EVR vehicles, ambulances, fire brigade vehicles and a recovery van deployed in the district have been deployed to monitor anti-social activities. Along with this, Durga Shakti team and women police personnel were deployed for the safety of women. Apart from these, all the teams of CIA staff in the district will keep a vigil on the mischievous elements in plain clothes.
