The attack took place on Friday morning in Balochistan, the south-western and most restive region of Pakistan. In which gunmen killed 20 miners and injured seven. According to the information given by the police, this attack took place just before the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit to be held in the capital of Pakistan.

Unidentified assailants killed several people in the shootout and it was also mentioned on social media that the attackers set mines and machinery on fire before fleeing the scene.
No one took responsibility for the attack
According to the information, gunmen surrounded the residential area in Balochistan and started firing. Most of these people came from the Pashtun speaking region of Balochistan. It is learned that three of the dead and four of the injured are of Afghan origin. So far no organization or group has taken responsibility for the attack.
Continuous increase in terrorist attacks
It is noteworthy that this year there has been an increase in terrorist attacks in Pakistan. The number of deaths in the first three quarters has exceeded the number recorded in the year 2023. The number of deaths increased in the first three quarters of 2024 from 1,523 in 2023, according to the third quarter report released by the Center for Research and Security Studies.
Baloch insurgents continue to attack
Baloch insurgent groups active in Pakistan have already carried out several attacks targeting the CPEC project.
