Shimla, 10 October (Hindustan Reporter). A new controversy has arisen in the famous mosque case of Sanjauli, a suburb of the capital Shimla. The Muslim organization has termed the Municipal Corporation Court's decision to demolish the upper three illegal floors of the mosque within two months as wrong and has announced to challenge it in the higher court. The Muslim organization says that under pressure, the Mosque Committee had applied before the Corporation Court to demolish the illegal part of the mosque.
In the meeting of All Himachal Muslim Organization held on Wednesday evening in Baluganj, Shimla, the decision taken by the Municipal Corporation Court on October 5 regarding Masjid Sanjauli was reviewed. It came to light that the decision given by the Commissioner is completely contrary to the facts, because the ownership of the land of this mosque belongs to Himachal Pradesh Waqf Board and the mosque has been registered in the revenue records for about 125 years.
Muslim organization named All Himachal Muslim Organization has said that the decision of the Corporation Commissioner has hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community and the fight will be fought till the Supreme Court. Muslim organization termed the allegations of illegal construction as baseless and claimed that Sanjauli Masjid is built on the land of Waqf Board.
Himachal Muslim Organization has also clarified that the construction done by Sanjauli Masjid Trust in recent years has been done on the old mosque only and it is absolutely legal.
All Himachal Muslim Organization spokesperson Nazakat Ali Hashmi said that as far as passing the map of the upper floors of the mosque is concerned, an application was made to get that map passed even before the construction work started. Which was pending in the commissioner's office. The Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Shimla, ignoring the application to get the map passed, has decided to demolish the upper floors of the mosque only by keeping in mind the personal opinion of some people, who are not authorized to take any such action. .
He said that the Commissioner's decision has hurt the faith and sentiments of the Muslim community and this decision will be challenged in the higher court as soon as possible. He said that under any circumstances, a legal battle will be fought till the last moment to protect every mosque of the state including Sanjauli Masjid.
