Raipur, 10 October (HS). After continuous complaints of over-rating and adulterated liquor, the Excise Department has removed Deputy Excise Commissioner Vikas Kumar Goswami posted in the capital. In the departmental order issued late on Wednesday night, the charge of 34 officers has been changed.

Amid continuous complaints of over-rating and adulterated liquor in the capital, the Excise Department has removed Deputy Excise Commissioner Vikas Kumar Goswami posted in the capital. In his place, Ramakrishna Mishra has now been appointed Chief Deputy Commissioner of Excise of Raipur. Along with this, the Excise Department has transferred 34 Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners of Excise and District Excise Officers, which includes 16 Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners of Excise and 13 District Excise. It may be noted that last month itself, supervisors of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district of Chhattisgarh had complained that Vikas Kumar Goswami had asked them to provide funding of two to three lakh rupees every month.
