Navrang Dandiya started with the praises of Maa Durga.

Dehradun, 10 October (HS). Navrang Dandiya 2.0 was celebrated at Sri Guru Ram Rai University on Thursday evening. Students sang the praises of various forms of Mata Rani on the auspicious occasion of Navratri. In the brightly lit pandal, Garba dance on one side and Pahari dishes including Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali on the other side were the special center of attraction for the spectators. President of Sri Guru Ram Rai University, Mahant Devendra Das Maharaj extended hearty greetings to all the people of the state and the country on Shardiya Navratri.

On Thursday evening, Navrang Dandiya 2.0 was inaugurated at the playground of Shri Guru Ram Rai University by the Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. Yashbir Diwan, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. Kumud Saklani and Registrar Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri by jointly lighting the lamp.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of SGRR University, Dr. Yashbir Diwan said that Navrang Dandiya has brought devotion, enthusiasm and joy in the campus of SGRR University. He congratulated all the teams organizing Navrang Dandiya. Narang Dandiya 2.0, organized by the Student Council of the University, started with Ganesh Vandana and Durga Puja.

Rashmi and group of School of Humanities made the atmosphere devotional with Dhanuchi dance. Dhanuchi dance is an important part of Durga Puja. It is a traditional Bengali dance and is also called Shakti dance. Sneha Yadav and group of School of Management and Commerce Studies gave a spectacular presentation of Garba dance.

Shweta and group of School of Education presented Dandiya dance. Students of School of Basic and Applied Sciences staged a beautiful performance of Navratri Mahima.

The students of the university presented a poignant staging of various forms of Mother Shakti through Rajasthani folk heritage. Shweta Joshi and Group made everyone dance with one after another performances of Garba and Dandiya. After this, Garba and Dandiya dance created an atmosphere of fun in the pandal. Faculty members and students danced vigorously on the high voltage sound of the DJ. The students were enthralled with the sounds of Dandiya songs till late night. Aakriti Thapa conducted the stage.

Huge enthusiasm was seen among the students of the university to be a part of Navrang Dandiya. The ground kept resonating with applause amidst the amazing steps and style of the youth in stylish modern and traditional clothes.

On this occasion, University Coordinator Dr. R.P. Singh, Navrang Dandiya Chairperson Dr. Arun Kumar, Dr. Balbir Kaur, Dr. Isha Sharma, Dr. Deepak Som, Dr. Manish Mishra, IQAC Director Professor Suman Bij, Dean Student Welfare Prof. Dr. Thousands of students including deans, department heads, faculty members of all the schools of the university were present along with Kanchan Joshi.
