UGC launches 'Lioness' network for women scientists and faculty members, know what will be its benefits – News India Live


New Delhi: She Research Network in India (SheRNI) has been launched by the University Grants Commission i.e. UGC. This network has been launched by UGC-INFLIBNET. The main objective of starting it is to create national level expertise for women faculty members. It will connect other scientists and faculty members from different fields so that they can exchange their work and research experiences.

This network will connect 81,818 registered women scientists and academic members from other fields. Additionally, this network will also include 6,75,313 publications and 11,543 patents that can be accessed from this network. Launching this portal, UGC Chairman Professor Mamidla Jagadesh Kumar shared the information and said that the organization wants to ensure equal representation and exposure of the achievements of women scientists and teachers. The network will work to inspire the next generation of female scientists, researchers and faculty to further increase women's participation in the field.
