New Delhi: According to doctors, consumption of purine-rich food increases uric acid in the body rapidly. Therefore, people with high uric acid should be very careful about their diet. Especially pulses rich in protein and purine should not be consumed in your diet. Lentils contain good amount of protein. Although protein is considered good for health but it is poison for uric acid patients. According to a research published in the MDPI journal Nutrients, beans contain purines, which the body converts into uric acid.
Consuming pulses high in purine can increase uric acid. Therefore, if your uric acid is increased then do not consume these pulses even by mistake.
Pulses should not be consumed in case of uric acid.
Gram: Although gram is considered good for health, but it is not considered good for uric acid patients. It contains protein and fiber. If the level of uric acid in it is high then do not consume it.
According to a research published in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Research, if you have arthritis then avoid eating gram. Gram also has high amount of oxalate. It causes kidney stones.
