Mumbai: Film actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra have approached the High Court in a case. He has challenged the ED notice to vacate his house in Juhu and a farmhouse in Pune.

The petition was heard by the bench of Justice Prithviraj Chauhan on Wednesday. The court has issued a notice to ED and fixed the next hearing of this case on Thursday. In the petition, the ED notice issued to Shetty and Kundra on September 27 has been challenged. It has directed it to vacate its residential complex and a farm house within 10 days in a money laundering case related to the Bitcoin fraud.

Shetty and Kundra received a notice to vacate the complex on October 3, their lawyer said. He described the notice as arbitrary and illegal. He has requested to cancel it. According to the petition, there is no immediate need for the petitioner to vacate his premises. It is unnecessary to issue such eviction notices. The ED had filed a complaint against Amit Bhardwaj and others in 2018 on charges of bitcoin fraud and money laundering. Shetty and her husband have been made accused in this case. It has been told that ED called Kundra for questioning several times during the investigation. Kundra appeared before the agency on every summons.
