Satna, 9 October (Hindustan Reporter). There was a lot of dancing and singing in the second evening of the 50th Ustad Alauddin Khan Festival organized by Madhya Pradesh Government, Culture Department in collaboration with Ustad Alauddin Khan Music and Art Academy in collaboration with District Administration Maihar. The ceremony is being organized from October 8 to 10 at the Stadium Ground in Maihar.
On Wednesday, the second day of the festival, the musical evening started with the performance of Odissi group dance by scholar Sanchita Bhattacharya, Kolkata. The next presentation was of tabla playing by Anshul Pratap Singh, Bhopal. Thereafter, Santoor playing by Pt. Abhay Rustam Sopori, Delhi and singing by Pt. Uday Kumar Malik, Delhi enthralled the audience and music lovers. On this occasion, Collector Rani Batad, Additional Collector Shailendra Singh, SDM Vikas Singh, Tehsildar Jitendra Patel, local public representatives of Maihar district, distinguished citizens and a large number of audience were present.
On the occasion of the 50th celebration of the famous Ustad Alauddin Khan festival held every year in Maihar, an exhibition of miniature paintings based on the 108 name mysteries of Goddess Navratri and focused on string instruments of classical music has also been organized at the venue of the festival at the stadium ground. On the occasion of the function, local public representatives of Maihar, distinguished citizens and music loving listeners visited the exhibition.
