Haryana Assembly Elections: Despite facing many challenges against BJP in Haryana, Congress had to face a crushing defeat in the assembly elections. BJP has surprised everyone by giving opposite results in the exit polls. Now political experts are discussing why Congress lost despite its strong position in Haryana. Meanwhile, experts have cited five major reasons for Congress's defeat, which include internal differences, Rahul Gandhi taking decisions against his wishes.

State leadership did not believe what Rahul Gandhi said

The veteran leadership of Haryana Pradesh Congress made a big mistake by not accepting Rahul Gandhi's talk of alliance with AAP. There were seven seats in the state where AAP candidates got more votes than Congress candidates with a margin of defeat. In such a situation, if there was an alliance between Congress and AAP in the state, Congress could have gained seven seats and there would have been a big upheaval in the final results of the elections.

damage caused by internal strife

The Congress party, which had won five out of 10 seats in the state in the Lok Sabha elections, got disintegrated in the assembly elections. Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda dominated the ticket distribution in the state, which angered Sirsa MP and veteran Congress leader Kumari Selja and Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala. Surjewala was seen campaigning only to make his son win the elections, while Shailja did not participate in the campaign for several days.

suffered losses due to factionalism and rebellion

Due to factionalism in the state Congress, there has been lack of organization at booth level and district level for the last 15 years. For the last 15 years, the regional leadership has been trying to form a small level organization, but due to the factionalism of veteran leaders, no organization has been formed at the district level. Apart from this, there are about 12 seats in Haryana, where Congress lost due to rebels.

Jat community issue

According to political experts, BJP got huge advantage by polarizing the votes of Jat community against other 35 communities in Haryana. When Congress focused more on issues like Jat community and ticket distribution, it suffered huge losses.

Dalit vote did not get

A day before voting, Kumari Shailaja and veteran leader Ashok Tanwar, who joined Congress from BJP, both come from Dalit community and are considered big Dalit leaders in the state, but Kumari Shailaja's displeasure with Congress and Ashok Tanwar joining Congress led to voting. A day before, Congress did not get any benefit from Dalit votes. These are considered to be the main reasons behind the defeat of Congress in Haryana.
