If a mobile phone is stolen, there is also a risk of personal data being stolen. Nowadays our dependence on mobile has increased a lot. Many of our important things are stored in mobile, whose leakage can increase the danger for us. Such danger can increase significantly if mobile is stolen. To deal with this, Google has released three new safety features under theft protection. These features will work on Android phones running Android 10 and above.
Google has already started rolling out these features. The company is bringing it forward through Play Services. If you want to use these features, go to Settings and find Theft Protection. Apart from this, you can also use these features by visiting Google Services page. These features were announced during the Google I/O 2024 event in May this year.
Theft detection lock: a new smart feature
The theft detection lock feature works by using sensors in phone, Wi-Fi and smart device connections. He finds out who has stolen the mobile and unlocks it. If it suspects so, the screen automatically locks, so that no one can see your private data.
Offline Device Lock: Offline feature
This feature works when your mobile is stolen and the internet is turned off. Google has set two conditions for using this feature. First of all, the phone should be used extensively when it is not locked. Second, the screen can be locked only twice a day. This function can prevent misuse of mobile when there is no internet.
Remote lock: will increase security
The Remote Lock feature allows people to access the android.com/lock link if the mobile is stolen. For this, the phone number will have to be given during setup. You can use this feature with a phone number and security challenge. With this feature you can lock the stolen phone with the phone of a trusted person. Google has started testing these features in Brazil. Now Android users of Pixel and Samsung etc. around the world will be able to avail these features. If this feature is not available in your phone then wait for a while, because these features have not been fully launched.
