New Delhi, 08 October (Hindustan Reporter). President Draupadi Murmu on Tuesday presented awards to the winners of the 70th National Film Awards for the year 2022. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. L. at the National Film Awards ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan. Murugan, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Sanjay Jaju were present. On this occasion, Aattam was given the Best Feature Film award. The Best Non-Feature Film award was given to Aayana (Mirror). Murmurs of the Jungle was awarded the Best Documentary Award. At the same time, Rishabh Shetty was given the Best Actor award for Kantara and Nithya Menen and Manasi Parekh were given the Best Actress award for Tiruchitrambalam and Kutch Express. Pawan Raj Malhotra won the Best Supporting Actor award, while Neena Gupta was awarded the Best Supporting Actress award.

On this occasion, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav congratulated all the award winners. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first leader who has recognized the creator economy. Today, creators have given a new identity to Indian culture on the world stage. The creators are determined to give a new dimension to the economy in the historic third term. This will help in giving new heights to various huge talents. He told that next year the government is going to give awards to new creators. Under this, more than 5000 participants have registered so far.

He said that considering the possibilities in the film sector, the government is going to start an Institute of Creative Technology in Mumbai on the lines of IIT, IIMS. The government is working on three dimensions to promote the film industry. Firstly, the emphasis is on developing the use of technology to nurture talent, strengthening the infrastructure and thirdly, on simplifying the permissions for film shooting. He said that work is also being done at a rapid pace to preserve the film heritage.

On this occasion, Minister of State L. Murugan and Secretary Sanjay Jaju said that Indian cinema is making its presence felt at the international level. He said that Webb Award is being started next year to promote emerging talent.
