Haridwar, 08 October (Hindustan Reporter). In the case of molesting a 13-year-old girl, FTSC-Additional District and Sessions Judge Chandramani Rai sentenced the accused middle-aged man to three years of rigorous imprisonment if found guilty. Also imposed a fine of Rs 10 thousand.
Government advocate Bhupendra Chauhan said that on August 1, 2018, a middle-aged man had committed obscene acts with a minor girl in the village of Kotwali Laksar area. On the day of the incident, the daughter of the accused and the victim had gone to the field to collect grass for the animals. Both of them had brought home a bundle of sugarcane leaves each. The victim's second bundle was left in the field. On which the daughter of the accused had sent her friend the victim along with her father to the field to bring bales. After reaching the field, the accused started molesting the victim.
When she raised noise, the accused pressed the victim's mouth. However, hearing the sound, the neighboring woman had come to the spot. The accused fled from the spot after seeing the woman. After returning home, the victim told the whole incident to her sister-in-law. After this, the victim filed a case against the accused in the police station.
The police had arrested the accused Devendra Singh, son of Harnam Singh, resident of village Kewalpuri Laksar and sent him to jail. The plaintiff presented nine witnesses in evidence. After hearing both the sides, the court sentenced the accused Devendra Singh to three years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.
