Toll charges may have to be paid on Gurugram's Dwarka Expressway by the end of this month. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has prepared a satellite based toll plaza on this expressway. Information about setting up toll plaza has been sent to the Transport Ministry.

Now it is being decided in the ministry that how much will be charged per kilometer from this toll plaza. According to official sources, the toll tax fee will be decided by the end of this month. After this, toll will be charged per kilometer from the drivers on this highway. This 28 kilometer long expressway is being built at a cost of about Rs 9 thousand crores.

The stretch of expressway in Gurugram is about 18.9 kilometres. NHAI has set up a toll plaza near Chauma village of Gurugram on the Delhi-Gurugram border. This toll plaza has 23 lanes. At present, about 20 thousand vehicles are leaving Gurugram for Dwarka in Delhi every day. An NHAI official said that a toll plaza has been set up on the Delhi-Gurugram border on the Dwarka Expressway. Signal installation work is in the final stages.

Information has been given to the Transport Ministry regarding setting up of toll plaza. A plan is being prepared in the Transport Ministry regarding toll fees. On the basis of this, toll fee will soon be collected on per kilometer basis.

The Gurugram part was opened in February

The Gurugram portion of this expressway was opened in February this year. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This expressway is being built at a cost of about Rs 9000 crore. The speed of vehicles on this expressway is 100 kilometers per hour.

CCTV cameras will be installed

NHAI plans to install CCTV cameras on this entire expressway. After the installation of CCTV cameras, if any vehicle moves at a speed of more than 100 kilometers per hour, an online challan will be issued. This work is expected to start soon.
