Jayen Mehta, managing director of Amul and Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF), said the milk recently launched by Amul in the US has been 'hugely successful' and is now set to enter the European market. He said that if this happens then it will be a historic moment for the brand. Speaking at the 11th Dr Verghese Kurien Memorial Lecture on 'Amul Model: Transforming the Lives of Millions' organized by private business management institute XLRI, Mehta said, “India is now the world's largest milk producer and will become the world's largest milk producer in the coming years.
