Tehran: On Tuesday, October 1, Iran attacked Israel with more than 180 ballistic missiles. Two days later, Ismail Kani, head of Iran's powerful Quds Force, is missing. Iran has not been able to establish contact with them. According to the information, he reached Lebanon after the death of Hassan Nasrullah, but no one knows about his current condition.
After disappearing from Israeli attack
Two Iranian security officials said no trace of Ismail Kani had been found since an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on Thursday last week. According to the Iranian official, he was in the Dahiya area of Beirut. Here on Thursday, Israel targeted Hezbollah's possible successor Hashim Safiuddin in an attack. However, the Iranian official says that Ismail had not met Safiuddin. On the other hand, Israel did not make any clear comment on the news of Ismail Kani being killed in the Beirut attack.
Safiuddin is also missing
Hezbollah says it is unable to contact its leader Hashim Safiuddin. Efforts are being made to search for him, but Israel is not allowing the search to proceed. On September 27, Israel killed Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in a major bombing in Beirut. After this, Hashim Safiuddin's name was at the forefront as a successor.
About Ismail Kani
Ismail Kani, 67, was born in Mashhad. The city is located in northeastern Iran. He joined the Revolutionary Guards during the Iran–Iraq War in the 1980s. In 2020, Quds Force chief Qasem Soleimani was killed in a US drone strike in the Iraqi capital Baghdad. Iran then appointed Ismail Kani as the head of the foreign military intelligence service of the Revolutionary Guards Corps.
