Laddu is made by mixing these things
Pure ghee, gram flour, rava, cashew nuts, sugar, raisins and cardamom
100 quintal daily consumption on special occasions
According to Tripathi Tripathi, in-charge of Mahakal's laddu unit, laddus are made by meeting all the standards of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India i.e. FSSAI. Other food testing agencies in the country have also tested the laddu prasad here and certified its purity. This is the reason why Mahakal Laddoo Prasad is considered to be the purest in the country and that is why it is in demand. You can also get information about its purity from the barcode given on the Prasad packet. 100 quintals of laddus are consumed daily three days a week and on special days.
FSSAI has given five star rating
Laddu Unit in-charge Piyush Tripathi told that in the year 2003, Laddu Prasad was made only in a room of the temple premises to offer naivedya to Baba Mahakal. Later, considering the purity of the Prasad, its demand started increasing. Meanwhile, in 2015, FSSAI examined Laddu Prasad and gave five star rating on the basis of its quality. At the same time, other national level food agencies also certified it as it met all the standards. Due to this, confidence in this Prasad has increased throughout the world. As a result, Mahakal Laddu Prasadam Unit was started on Chintaman Ganesh Road in 2016.
Gram flour is made by grinding pulses, ghee is bought from Sanchi.
Baba Mahakal's offering and devotees' Prasad Laddus are prepared in the unit of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Committee located in Chintaman area. The entire process of making laddus is done under the supervision of officials. To maintain purity in laddu, the temple management committee buys gram dal instead of gram flour. This dal is ground in the mill installed in Prasad Bhawan itself to make gram flour, which is used in making laddus. Along with this, rava, cashew nuts, raisins and sugar powder are also mixed in the laddu, which the temple committee buys only after investigation. Desi ghee used in laddus is purchased from Sanchi dairy of the state. This dairy is authorized by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Dry fruits are used only after testing
Dr. Piyush Tripathi, Assistant Administrator of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee, said that Shri Mahakaleshwar Management Committee has received many national awards for the purity of the Prasad of Mahakal Temple. Bhog Prasad and five star rating at the national level are prominent in this. Dry fruits added to laddus are used only after testing. Many laddus have been suddenly sent for testing, but with the blessings of Baba Mahakal, no sample has failed so far. To ensure that we stick to our ratings, the Prasad is prepared in a hygienic manner. Before making Prasad, everyone's hands are washed, a cap is put on their head and then after chanting Jai Shri Mahakal, this Prasad is made.
30 quintal laddus are made daily
Laddu unit in-charge Kamlesh Sisodia said that on normal days we make 25 to 30 quintals of laddus every day. These laddus are consumed every day. At the same time, 50-65 quintals of laddus are prepared on special festivals of Baba Mahakal like Sawan Monday and other occasions. These are also consumed in a day. Laddus are prepared in packets of 100 grams, 200 grams, 500 grams and one kilogram. Which devotees buy for Rs 50, 100, 200 and 400.
Playing with faith in Tirupati
Priest of Mahakaleshwar Temple, Pandit Ashish Sharma said that the President has also given an award to the Laddus Prasad given in Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple. From the beginning till now the process of making Prasad is the same. Prasad laddus are prepared as per tradition and arrangements. Both Tirupati Balaji and Baba Mahakal are places where gram flour laddus are offered to the Lord. The faith of crores of people has been affected due to the exposure of irregularities in the offerings of Tirupati temple. Such incidents should not happen and playing with traditions should also stop.
