Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been in jail for the last 4 months for the murder of his fan Renukaswamy. Darshan has claimed that the ghost of his fan Renukaswamy is troubling him in jail.

He told the jail authorities that Renukaswamy comes in his dreams. According to reports, Darshan used to hear screaming sounds while sleeping early in the morning. Darshan says he is alone in his cell and is unable to sleep due to fear. This is having a deep impact on his mental condition. The bail petition will be heard. The actor's legal team is constantly trying to get him bail. Darshan's bail plea was heard on September 30, although this time Darshan's lawyer himself had asked for a later date. Darshan had earlier also applied for bail, which was rejected. After this, on September 4, Darshan's lawyer again filed a fresh bail petition.

On June 9, the body of 33-year-old Renukaswamy was found near an apartment in Bengaluru's Kamakshipalya area. When the police investigated the area around the incident spot, they saw Darshan and Pavitra leaving the scene in the CCTV footage. Both the mobile numbers were active in the same area from 11 pm to 3 am. After this, Darshan and Pavitra were arrested on 11 June. Deceased Renukaswami Darshan was an admirer of Thoogudipa. Darshan was already married, which led to controversy in his relationship with actress Pavitra Gowda. Renukaswamy, who considered philosophy as an ideal, was very angry at this news. He was continuously sending messages to Pavitra, threatening her and asking her to stay away from Darshan. Initially Pavitra ignored his messages, but later Renukaswamy started sending objectionable messages and threatening her. When Pavitra complained about this to Darshan, Darshan with the help of his associates called Renukaswamy to the warehouse, where he was tortured to death. According to the confession of the accused, after the murder, the clothes of Darshan's friends were stained with blood. He went to the nearest Reliance store and bought new clothes and changed there. In this case, 19 people including Darshan and Pavitra are behind bars.
