1. Joint pain
Excessive consumption of tomatoes can cause joint pain and swelling, as this vegetable contains an alkaloid called solanine, which can cause pain and swelling in the joints. Therefore, patients suffering from diseases like arthritis should eat it in small quantities.
2. Acidity
Although tomato is considered an excellent vegetable for digestion, but if you consume it beyond a limit then you may have the problem of acidity or acid reflux. Actually, the nature of this vegetable is acidic which can increase the problem of gastroesophageal reflux.
3. Kidney disease
People who are suffering from kidney related diseases should eat tomatoes only after consulting a doctor because potassium is found in abundance in it, which can increase kidney problems. It is better for them to avoid tomato soup and tomato sauce.
