Raigarh, 5 October (Hindustan Reporter). Under the direction of State President Dr. Amit Kumar Miri, under the leadership of District President Shakuntala Ekka, the women leadership of Chhattisgarh State NHM Employees Union-District Raigarh met the Finance Minister in Lamdand Lailunga and Raigarh on Saturday and submitted a memorandum. The memorandum demanded that 27 percent contractual salary increase should be provided before Diwali. The NHM employees working in the village/development block/district have been continuously providing 24-hour service along with their families, but there is no one to listen to their plight, hence they met their MLA/Minister three-three times in the district itself and explained their problem. Make aware.

In NHM, 5 percent increment is given every year on performance basis, but it is not given to those employees who get less than 55 percent marks in the annual performance appraisal, the number of such employees keeps changing every year. Apart from this, as per clause 31.4 of NHM Human Resource Policy 2018, the basic monthly salary will be revised in a maximum time limit of every 03 years, which has not been revised till date even after lapse of 05 years. There was no mention of any work-based evaluation in the 27 percent contractual salary increase announced in the Assembly on July 19, 2023. That was the announcement of a lump sum increase to all the 37 thousand contractual employees of the state. Pay discrepancy in different cadres is also the reason for minimum pay.

The work responsibilities assigned from time to time are discharged very well by these employees. At present, we are working continuously in dengue, malaria, vomiting-diarrhea, sickle-cell screening, Ayushman-card, TB search campaign, other seasonal diseases, organizing health fairs, exploitative/economic/social poor condition of health contract workers and The increasing responsibilities/problems of the present time were explained through the letter. There is a huge difference in the salaries of regular employees, contract employees working against the sanctioned posts of the state, and NHM employees. Forget about providing equal salary to these employees despite doing equal work, even the 27 percent contractual salary increase announced on July 19, 2023 has not been received till date. BJP's top leadership and present ministers, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, Vijay Sharma, Minister OP Choudhary, Kedar Kashyap and other BJP leaders were present at the strike site and demanded the release of the said contractual health workers within 100 days if the BJP government is formed. There was talk of solving problems and regularization/stabilization. It has been more than 10 months since the government was formed, but the problem still remains the same.

On this occasion, Shakuntala Ekka, Ashwini Sai, Gaiman Kumar Jaiswal, Kunti Pankra, Ravi Lal Chauhan, Sunita Kispotta, Reshma Minz, Anita Sidar, Stuti Guardia, Sumitra, Arvind Kurre, Ganeshi Pankra, Nisha, Pragya Behera, Deepika from Lailunga/Raigarh.
