Taking action in two different police station areas of the district, the police succeeded in seizing an accused in the robbery case of Rs 5 lakh from a rice businessman and eight tractors laden with sand. City SP Dr K Ramdas gave this information during a press conference on Saturday.
City SP said that on October 2, on the main road from Piparpanti to Nathnagar under Lalmatia police station, three masked criminals riding a bike had looted Rs 5 lakh from the shop of Prachi rice wholesaler Gautam Kumar at gunpoint. Vikram Tanti alias Vikrantha, who was involved in this robbery, has been arrested from Madhusudanpur police station area. It is noteworthy that 05 people involved in this robbery case have been arrested within 24 hours and sent to judicial custody. Vikrant Tanti alias Vikrantha has a criminal history. Half a dozen cases are registered against him in Madhusudanpur police station. City SP said that on the other hand, 08 tractors partially laden with sand have been seized from Mahmuda river ghat under Jagdishpur police station.
As per the instructions of the Senior Superintendent of Police, continuous action is being taken against illegal mining, transportation and storage. In the same sequence, under the supervision of Superintendent of Police, City, a joint raid was conducted by Jagdishpur Police, Kajraeli Police and Vajra Team at Mahmuda River Ghat located in Modipur under Jagdishpur Police Station. During the raid, seeing the police, the tractor driver dropped sand using hydraulics and ran away leaving the tractor. From where 08 tractors partially loaded with sand were seized. In this matter, legal action is being taken under Jagdishpur police station.
