Anuppur, 4 October (Hindus). The main objective of Abhimanyu Abhiyan is to awaken the feeling of gender equality and respect for each other among men since childhood. Just as Abhimanyu had received knowledge from his parents during pregnancy itself, in the same way, parents should also educate their children from childhood. It is necessary to create awareness by giving social, moral, psychological and legal knowledge. To sensitize women towards crimes by awakening a feeling of special respect towards women, through education they should be given information about various crimes and their ill effects should be made aware, from time to time the activities of children should be assessed and they should be made aware of their ill effects. From an early age, they should be encouraged to have an attitude of respect and honor towards every woman. By making the youth aware about women's rights, women should be taught to have the freedom to express their views and be respectful towards their views. . At present, the obscenity which is prevalent in the society through technologies should be removed and emphasis should be laid on education.

This was said by AIG Women's Crime Bhopal Kiranlata Kerketta in the meeting of women officers of all the police stations of the district in the Collectorate Auditorium on Friday. He said that this time also a special awareness campaign “Abhimanyu” has been launched by the Madhya Pradesh Police Women Safety Branch to prevent crimes and domestic violence against women and girls and to provide a safe environment, especially to men, for the purpose of making them aware. It is being run till October. In this campaign, maximum number of men will be included by organizing marathon race from the main institute of the district. Besides, they will be distributed T-shirts with the tagline of cooperation, respect and equality along with posters of “I am Abhimanyu”. In this, the presence of the Superintendent of Police along with all senior officers, subordinate staff and in-charges of local NGOs working in the field of women and children and other supporting government departments will be ensured. Women Safety Branch, Police Headquarters have made available posters, poster booklet, street play script, questionnaire and short film for awareness prepared by the Women Safety Branch, Police Headquarters.

DIG Savita Sohne said that people need to start the culture from their homes, women should not only do jobs but do social service to protect other women and girls. The Police Department, National Rural Livelihood Mission and Women and Child Development Department jointly worked with students and teachers of schools and colleges, people from deprived communities, working class people living in slums as well as bus conductors. Drivers will try to make people aware by spreading publicity under Abhimanyu Abhiyan by visiting street corners and government and non-government institutions of the city.

Mainly Anuppur Superintendent of Police Motiur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Israr Mansoori, SDOP Sumit Kerkatta, Police Station Incharge Arvind Jain, officers and employees of Women Child Development Department and National Rural Livelihood Mission were present in the meeting.
