Gopeshwar, 04 October (HS). A member of a group of 49 people who had come from Delhi for pilgrimage and tourism on the Rudranath trek in Chamoli district, got separated from the group on Thursday due to losing the way, who was rescued on Friday by the Forest Department, Revenue, Police, SDRF as well as local people. After tireless efforts it was discovered safely.
According to the information, this 49-member team from Delhi had started the Rudranath Yatra on October 1. After darshan on October 2, the team stayed at Lvithi Bugyal. 27-year-old Akash Gupta went missing on October 3 while returning. As soon as the information was received, the Forest Department started searching at night, but no clue was found.
On Friday, a team of police, SDRF and revenue department conducted a search operation and rescued the youth safely near a waterfall. It was told that Akash Gupta got lost due to going a different route and slipped and fell down. Hearing his voice, the team took him out safely. The youth has suffered minor injuries and is undergoing treatment in the district hospital.
Sub-inspectors Anil Binjola, Anand Kashmira and SDRF sub-inspector Manmohan Singh, among others, were involved in the rescue operation.
