Received Rs 59 lakh for treatment in nine months from PM Relief Fund: Sanjay Seth | News India

Ranchi, 04 October (HS). On the recommendation of Union Minister of State for Defense cum Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, an amount of about Rs 59 lakh has been provided from the Prime Minister's National Disaster Relief Fund for the treatment of 25 people of Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency. This amount has been given to the respective hospitals between January 2024 and September 2024.

He said on Friday that on the recommendation of MPs, funds are made available to the poor people of the country for the treatment of serious illnesses from the Prime Minister's National Disaster Relief Fund with the approval of the Prime Minister. He said that only after I became MP, funds have been provided for the treatment of a large number of people. The amount made available between January 2024 and September 2024 is Rs 59 lakh.

Which mainly includes serious diseases like kidney, cancer, kidney transplant. Among those who have been provided the amount, 11 people have been given this amount for the treatment of cancer and the remaining people have been given this amount for the treatment of different diseases. This amount is up to a maximum of Rs 3 lakh depending on the disease.

The Minister said that it is the humanitarian gesture of the Prime Minister that the amount of the Prime Minister's National Disaster Relief Fund is being used for the treatment of serious diseases of the people. The Prime Minister has kept the country's treasury open only for the people of the country. It is a big thing that the poor people of the country no longer stumble for treatment out of fear. The PM is standing with him demanding better treatment. This is the first time in Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency that the Prime Minister is providing National Disaster Relief Fund funds for the treatment of the poor on such a large scale.

This is how the amount is received

For treatment from the Prime Minister's National Disaster Relief Fund, income certificate of the patient or his guardian, hospital estimate, Aadhar card, two passport size photographs, recommendation letter from MP, an application from the patient or his family are required. Along with this, it is also necessary for the concerned hospital to be affiliated with the PM Relief Fund. Within 40 days of the application, the PMO committee approves the amount and sends it to the concerned hospital.
