Supreme Court seeks reply from Gujarat government on bulldozer action on Somnath temple, if found guilty… | News India

Supreme Court: The Supreme Court has refused to ban the running of bulldozers around the Somnath temple in Gujarat. A petition has been filed in the court against the bulldozer action taken on the houses and religious places of the Muslim community near the Somnath temple. It has been said in the petition that bulldozer action is being taken there in disregard of the Supreme Court's order of September 17. The petition demands contempt proceedings against the Collector and other officials of Gir Somnath. Then the Supreme Court has asked the Gujarat government to file its reply in the next hearing on 16 October.

The Supreme Court refused to stop the bulldozer action and said that let the state government answer. If we feel that the officials have committed contempt of court, we will not only send them to jail but also direct them to be restored to their previous status there.

The Supreme Court has made a big comment on the contempt petition filed regarding bulldozer action near Somnath temple. The court said that if our orders are ignored then the guilty officers will be sent to jail. Will also give orders to restore everything. The Supreme Court asked the Gujarat government to file a reply. Now the next hearing of this case will be on 16 October. However, the court rejected the petitioner's demand to maintain the status quo.

During the hearing, SG Tushar Mehta, on behalf of Gujarat government, said that this case has been going on since 2003. A contempt petition was filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of the entire Muslim community on behalf of the Muslim community. In the contempt petition, action has been demanded against the Collector and other officials of Gir Somnath. The petition mentions the alleged illegal demolition of Dargah Mangrol Shah Baba, Idgah, Prabhas Patan, Veraval, Gir Somnath and many other structures.

The petition states that large-scale demolition was carried out following the Supreme Court's order to stop the bulldozing operation.
