Seminar on National Education Policy-2020 was organized in Lyallpur Khalsa College

Jalandhar: An ICSSR sponsored one day national seminar on NEP 2020, its significance for society and education in North India was organized by the Post Graduate English Department and NSS Units of Lyallpur Khalsa College. The seminar was organized with the aim to consider the involvement of key stakeholders, society and teachers for the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020. The inaugural session was presided over by Jaspal Singh Waraich, Joint Secretary, Governing Council.

Principal Dr. Governing Council Joint Secretary Jaspal Singh, keynote speaker Dr. Dinesh Chahal, Dr. Khushvinder Kumar and other guests were welcomed with bouquets. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh welcomed the audience and asked them to discuss various aspects of NEP 2020. Seminar coordinator Prof. Satpal Singh pointed towards the ancient knowledge, skills and competencies in the society and argued for harnessing the same through NEP 2020. Renowned educationist Prof. Dinesh Chahal, Central University, Haryana delivered the keynote address on 'Ancient Knowledge in the context of NEP 2020 to promote community engagement with education'. The second speaker Dr. Khushvinder Kumar, Former Principal MM Modi College, Patiala explained about the various parameters, requirements and implications of NEP 2020 in universities and colleges. In the evening session, Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balveer Singh Seechewal was the chief guest of the function. He was welcomed by Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh did it. During his speech, Sant Balveer Singh Seechewal emphasized on the participation of the society for the welfare of Mother Earth.

Dr. Balraj Kaur presented the vote of thanks and said that the seminar was attended by more than 46 participants including renowned experts, scholars, researchers and teachers from Punjab, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana. Dr. Gitanjali Mahajan conducted the stage very well. For successfully conducting this seminar, Dr. Manju Joshi, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Karanbir Singh, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Dr. Sukhdev Singh Nagra, Dr. Sarabjit Singh, Prof. Bhavana, P. Kirandeep Kaur worked together.
