CBI arrests senior NIA agent: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a senior NIA officer on Thursday. Along with the officer, his two middlemen have also been arrested. These three are accused of taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from the complainant.
NIA officer was being implicated in a false case
Officials investigating the case said that the accused NIA officer had taken bribe to save a person from investigation in a case pending against him. CBI received a complaint from Rocky Yadav, owner of Ramaiya Construction, that Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Pratap Singh was extorting money from me by threatening to implicate my family in a false case of possessing illegal weapons without license.
Bribed officer searches construction company owner's house
Officials said the NIA bribery officer had searched Yadav's house on September 19 and asked him to appear for questioning before Singh, the investigating officer of the case, on September 26. He told that Ajay Pratap Singh is accused of threatening Yadav and demanding a bribe of Rs 2.5 crore to save the results of the investigation.
Legal action against the accused officer
Rocky Yadav was ready to bribe Ajay Pratap Singh to save his family from false allegations, the officer said. During the investigation of this case, CBI has arrested the NIA officer on charges of taking bribe. Now legal action is being taken against the accused officer.
