Cabinet decisions: The Union Cabinet has approved many schemes. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Union Cabinet has approved Chennai Metro Phase 2. In this phase, three corridors will be built, which will have a total of 120 stations. This corridor will be built by Chennai Metro Rail Limited. Its total cost will be Rs 63,246 crore, which will be borne half by the Center and the state. Apart from this, Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) has been approved for railway employees. Railway employees will be given 78 days bonus. The cabinet decision will benefit 11.72 lakh railway employees.
PLB scheme worth Rs 2029 crore approved, recruitment is being done on 58,642 posts
Information Broadcasting and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, 'For the good performance of railway employees, the Cabinet has approved Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) of Rs 2,029 crore, which will benefit 11,72,240 employees.' According to the government, this amount will be given to various categories of railway employees like track maintainer, loco pilot, train manager (guard), station master, supervisor, technician, technician helper, 'pointsman', ministerial staff and other employees.
The 119 km long second phase will be divided into three corridors
On Chennai Metro Phase 2 project, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, 'The Union Cabinet has approved the second phase of Chennai Metro at a cost of Rs 63,246 crore. This 119 km long second phase will be divided into 3 corridors and will have 120 stations. 120 stations are being built so that more and more people can use the metro at walking distance from their homes. If you look at the example of Tokyo, there is metro available at walking distance from everywhere. The same method will be adopted in Chennai Metro also.
Two agricultural development schemes worth Rs 1 lakh crore approved
The Union Cabinet has approved two major agriculture schemes with an outlay of Rs 1 lakh crore to promote sustainable agriculture and ensure food security. The names of these schemes are 'PM Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana' (PM-RKVY) and 'Krishi Unnati Yojana' (KY). The Cabinet approved PM-RKVY to promote sustainable farming and Krishi Unnati Yojana to achieve food security for self-reliance. A total of Rs 1,01,321.61 crore will be spent on these two agricultural schemes.
National Edible Oilseeds Mission approved
Union Cabinet approved National Mission on Edible Oils-Oilseeds. Rs 10,103 crore will be spent on this scheme in the next six years i.e. till the financial year 2030-31. The government said that the aim of the mission is to increase the production of primary oilseeds from 39 million tonnes by the year 2022-23 to 69.7 million tonnes by the year 2030-31. Apart from this, the Union Cabinet approved giving the status of classical languages to Marathi, Pali, Prakrit, Assamese and Bengali languages.
