In view of the prevention of crimes against women and girls and their safety, a ten-day special awareness campaign 'Main Hoon Abhimanyu' was launched on Thursday at the district headquarters, in which a marathon race was organized in Rajgarh, Guna, Narmadapuram, Mandla, Rewa. , Bhopal, Shajapur, Indore and Ashoknagar were included, along with which the winning participants were felicitated.
Keeping women's safety in mind, especially to make men aware, on the instructions of Women's Crime Branch, Police Headquarters, Bhopal, a special awareness campaign 'Main Hoon Abhimanyu' is being conducted in the district from 3rd to 12th October, under which a marathon race was organized. In the campaign, the feeling of gender equality and respect for each other will be awakened in men right from childhood, sensitized about the crimes committed against women, information about various crimes will be given through education as well as the ill effects will be made aware. In which publicity will be done through social media, posters, short films, city-rural people, school-college students, teachers, slum dwellers, working class, drivers, government-non-government organizations, banks and other places. Under the ten-day campaign, debate competition, seminar, street play, slogans, solving questionnaires and screening of short films will be held.
On this occasion, a marathon race was organized from the Government Excellent School campus located at the district headquarters to the petrol pump located on Khujner Road, in which participants from Rajgarh, Guna, Narmadapuram, Indore, Ashoknagar, Shajapur, Bhopal, Rewa and Mandla took part. In the marathon, 11 year old Deeksha Verma, resident of Rajgarh was the youngest participant and 72 year old Surendra Singh Raghav, resident of Rajgarh was the oldest participant. Superintendent of Police Aditya Mishra inaugurated the marathon race by flagging off, in which a total of 438 participants included 196 girls, 242 boys.
In the program, an oath was taken to play a positive role in breaking the cycle of evils prevalent in the society like drug addiction, dowry, stereotyping, obscenity, insensitivity, illiteracy and gender discrimination. In the marathon, the participants who stood first, second and third in four groups of boys and girls below 18 years of age were rewarded with prizes and trophies of Rs 11,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500.
