Indian cricket team's star wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul was recently seen playing in the 2-match Test series against Bangladesh. Rahul was preferred as a middle-order batsman over Sarfaraz Khan in the series. His performance against Bangladesh was good. However, it cannot be ignored that he has not been able to regain his old rhythm in the last few years.
Tamim Iqbal supported KL Rahul
There seems to be a lack of consistency in Rahul. Now seeing this lack of consistency, Bangladesh's legendary batsman Tamim Iqbal has supported Rahul. Tamim Iqbal says that if Rahul fails in one or two matches then questions start being raised on him. Tamim Iqbal said, “If KL Rahul fails in one or two matches then people start questioning his condition which I think is not right.”
Rahul's performance in the test against Bangladesh
Rahul's performance in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh was excellent. In the first Test of the series played in Chennai, Rahul scored 16 runs in the first innings. Then in the second innings he remained unbeaten after scoring 22 runs. Then Rahul had scored an explosive 68 runs in an innings of Kanpur Test.
Rahul's upcoming international career
Rahul is a wicketkeeper batsman who plays all three formats for India. However, these days he is away from the T20 team setup. He is being made a part of only ODI and Test team. Rahul has played 52 Tests, 77 ODIs and 72 T20 International matches in his career so far. He has scored 2969 runs in Test, 2851 runs in ODI and 2265 runs in T20 International.
