A dispute broke out during the cleaning of a plot as part of a cleanliness drive in Manipur's Ukhrul area, following which firing took place between two groups. Three people including a soldier died in this firing. After this incident, a large number of security forces have been deployed in the entire area.
In Manipur's violence-hit Churachandpur, a militant commander was shot dead by an unknown person. Thus, a total of four people died in firing incidents in both the districts. The killed militant is a member of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA). Meanwhile, a large-scale search operation was conducted in Tangnopal district, during which security forces seized a large quantity of weapons. The seized weapons include 10 large explosive devices, 11 small-sized IEDs, 42 indigenous grenades, seven nos. 36 grenades, two Chinese grenades, 34 petrol bombs are included.
