Mohammad Azharuddin summoned by ED: Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin's troubles have increased. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent summons in the money laundering case. Mohammad Azharuddin is accused of irregularities in Hyderabad Cricket Association. According to reports, funds worth Rs 20 crore have been embezzled in the association. Azharuddin is to appear before the ED today (October 3).

Former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin was elected as the president of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) in September 2019. He had to leave this post in June 2021. He was prosecuted on charges of misappropriation of funds. ED had registered a case of money laundering against officials of Hyderabad Cricket Association. ED raided 9 places in Telangana and seized many important documents and digital devices.
Allegation of financial irregularities in stadium construction
According to the Enforcement Directorate, Hyderabad Cricket Association officials committed financial irregularities in the construction of Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium. They gave contracts to private companies at high rates and caused a loss of crores of rupees to the association. ED has registered three FIRs in this case and further investigation is going on.
