Dehradun, 02 October (HS). The birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Pt. Lal Bahadur Shastri was celebrated at the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority on Wednesday.
USDMA Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration Anand Swarup garlanded the portraits of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. After this, officers and employees of USDMA, Uttarakhand Landslide Mitigation and Management Center and U Prepare paid homage to both the great personalities.
Additional Chief Executive Officer Anand Swarup said that Gandhiji gave a new direction to non-violent resistance in the Indian freedom struggle. He believed that even the greatest power could be defeated with truth and non-violence. He taught us to stick to our principles without any hesitation and have love and sympathy for others.
Joint Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Obaidullah Ansari said that Gandhiji's contribution was not limited to India only, he taught the lesson of humanity, equality and peace to the entire world. His thoughts are still relevant in the society even today. We should adopt his ideals and work towards a better society.
Honoring employees for meritorious services
Additional Chief Executive Officer Anand Swaroop honored the employees who provided 24-hour services at the State Emergency Operation Center such as Master Trainer, Data Entry Operator, Police Wireless, Forest Wireless, ERSS 112 employees, Multi Purpose Workers and Environment Mitras by giving them citations. . He said that the staff deployed in the control room played an important role in exchanging information during various disasters during the monsoon season, due to which relief and rescue operations could be carried out with ease.
