Kanpur Dehat, 02 October (Hindustan Reporter). On Wednesday in the district, in the presence of District Magistrate Alok Singh, the birth anniversary of two great men of the country, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, along with the officers and employees working in the Collectorate, was celebrated grandly in the Collectorate building. The District Magistrate unveiled the portraits of both the great men and laid wreaths and flowers and highlighted the life struggle of Gandhiji and Shastriji, their service to the country and their values of life.
The program was started by singing Mahatma Gandhi's famous bhajan “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”.
Speaking on this occasion, the District Magistrate said that the thoughts of both the personalities are relevant even today. Both of them taught us that the evils within us can be controlled with strong will power. He emphasized on Gandhi's idea to use only as much as is required, because nature can satisfy man's need but not his greed. He said that whatever change you want to see in others, first do it in yourself, there should not be any difference between a person's thoughts and actions, always remember your responsibility and always be ready to fulfill it, set an example by discharging your duties.
He said that we should behave harmoniously with our colleagues and take everyone along, only then we can follow the path shown by these great men. The District Magistrate said that today on this special day, we should take a resolution that “we should give up the evil within us and adopt positivity in life.” He said that cleanliness is very important in life, being clean is a basic need, which enhances our personality. Cleanliness, truth, non-violence can completely change our lives.
On this occasion, Additional District Magistrate Administration Amit Kumar and Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Keshav Nath Gupta also expressed their views. Additional District Magistrate Judicial Amit Rathore, Additional Magistrate Shalini Uttam, Jitendra Katiyar, officials and employees of Collectorate etc. were present in the program.
