Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Washington has appointed Dr. Pawan Singhal, senior professor of ENT department of Sawai Mansingh Hospital, as a mentor. Dr. Singhal will now impart education to selected youth from other countries including India who are doing research and education on tobacco.
Dr. Pawan Singhal, senior professor and head of the ENT department of Sawai Mansingh Hospital, said that tobacco control programs are run at the global level by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Washington. Under which many types of courses are run for the youth around the world and representatives of government and non-government organizations working on tobacco control. For which mentors are selected who provide them education in the direction of tobacco control.
He informed that the representatives selected from India on behalf of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health will be provided education on technical aspects of tobacco control in Rajasthan from October 1 to December 20.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Pawan Singhal has been working towards tobacco control at many levels for the last 16 years. In the year 2009, I got the opportunity to work towards tobacco control under the inspiration of Professor Pankaj Chaturvedi during the UICC Shireen Gajadhar Fellowship awarded by Tata Memorial Center Mumbai, since then the work has been going on. At the same time, the police and administrative officers of the state also provide information about tobacco control to the youth through technical programs from time to time.
