Araria 02 October(HS). Peace Committee meeting was held under the joint chairmanship of SDM Shailja Pandey and SDPO Mukesh Kumar Saha in the Forbesganj police station premises on Wednesday regarding law and order during Dussehra festival and celebrating the festival in a peaceful manner.
Many officers including Police Station Head Raghavendra Singh, Electricity Department SDO Komal Kumari, Chief Councilor Veena Devi, Executive Officer Suryanand Singh, Circle Officer Chandrashekhar Kumar were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, there was special discussion on maintenance of law and order along with security arrangements. SDM Shailja Pandey declared it mandatory to completely ban DJ during Durga Puja and it is mandatory for every puja committee to get a license. Near every puja pandal, Talked about deployment of adequate police force. He said that puja committees have been instructed to install CCTV cameras near their puja pandals and make adequate fire fighting arrangements. Along with this, emphasis has also been laid on special measures for crowd management and traffic control. Electricity Department SDO Komal Kumari claimed to have made adequate arrangements to maintain continuity of power supply.
SDPO Mukesh Kumar Saha appealed for cooperation from all communities to maintain peace during the festival. He said that the police administration will keep a close watch on every situation and advised the general public not to pay attention to any kind of rumours. Apart from this, if anyone sees any suspicious activity, an appeal was made to inform the police immediately.
