Dehradun, 1 October (HS). State Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi has given strict instructions to the departmental officers to work on the works in the interest of farmers on priority basis. On Tuesday, departmental minister Ganesh Joshi held a review meeting of the Agriculture and Horticulture Department in the camp office. During this, the Minister also instructed Secretary Agriculture to ensure accountability of the officials who are negligent in the implementation of public welfare schemes of the government. During this, the departmental minister took information from the officials about the progress of the centrally and state funded schemes run by the Agriculture and Horticulture Department. He gave necessary directions to the officials for the implementation of the scheme.

Instructing the officials, he said that universal cartons should be made available to the apple farmers immediately so that the farmers do not suffer losses. Along with encouraging farmers for organic and natural farming, he also said that innovations should be disseminated to the farmers. The minister asked the officials to promote cluster based organic farming. He asked the officials to spend the budget of centrally funded schemes on time and to send the proposals related to the pending and new demands of cluster based farming to the Government of India as soon as possible. During this, he also instructed the officers to ensure accountability of the officers for the implementation of the schemes. Minister Ganesh Joshi said that Harshil's apple has its own importance. Earlier, information was received through media that farmers are being given boxes of apples and their prices are also high. He said that the officials have ensured that universal cartons are made available to the farmers so that the farmers do not suffer losses. On this occasion, Secretary Agriculture SN Pandey, Additional Secretary Agriculture Anand Swarup, Director General of Agriculture Ranveer Singh Chauhan, Director Agriculture KC Pathak, Joint Director Horticulture Ratan Kumar and other officers were present.
