Patna, 1 October (HS). Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday conducted an aerial survey of the flood affected areas of the state with officials and took information about the situation. The Chief Minister also gave necessary directions to the officials.
The Chief Minister said that no negligence of any kind will be tolerated in relief and rescue work. Minister Vijay Choudhary, Principal Secretary of Disaster Management Department Pratyaya Amrit, Advisor to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar were present with the Chief Minister. Earlier, on September 20, the Chief Minister had also conducted an aerial survey of the flood affected areas and had directed the officials to carry out relief work as soon as possible. However, after this, the series of dam breaks continued in many districts and the flood situation became even more dire, after which the Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey again on Tuesday.
It is noteworthy that due to the floods in Bihar due to the water released from Nepal, about four lakh people in 16 districts have been affected. The flood has created a situation of chaos. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out by the district administration but they are proving inadequate. The government is providing all kinds of help to the people in the affected areas, but there is a need to carry out relief and rescue operations on a large scale.
