New Delhi, 01 October (Hindustan Reporter). The total sales of the country's largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) for the month of September have increased by 02 percent on an annual basis to 1,84,727 units. The company had sold 1,81,343 vehicles in the same period last year.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement issued on Tuesday that the total sales of domestic passenger vehicles in September stood at 1,44,962 units, which is four percent less than the figure of 1,50,812 units in September 2023. At the same time, sales of small cars including Alto and S-Presso have increased to 10,363 units as compared to 10,351 units in September 2023. However, sales of compact cars including Baleno, Celerio, Dezire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S and WagonR declined to 60,480 units as against 68,551 units in the same month last year.
According to MSI, sales of utility vehicles like Brezza, Ertiga, Grand Vitara and XL6 stood at 61,549 units in the month of September, which is four percent more as compared to 59,272 units in September, 2023. Sales of Van Eeco during this period stood at 11,908 units, whereas in September 2023 it was 11,147 units. Sales of the company's light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 3,099 units, compared to 2,294 units in the same month last year. The company said exports increased to 27,728 units in September, compared to 22,511 units in the same month last year.
