Guru Randhawa: After the trailer of singer and actor Guru Randhawa's much talked about film 'Shahkot' was released on Sunday, protests were seen at many places. Guru Randhawa said about this in an interview, 'If we support cinema, cinema will develop. I have done this Punjabi film with heart and Shahkot is my first Punjabi film. I appeal to everyone to support us by watching the film so that we can make better films in the future.

Opposition from Punjab unit of Shiv Sena
Produced by Guru Randhawa's Anirudh Mohta, Shahkot will release in theaters on October 4. Recently, the Punjab unit of Shiv Sena had protested against this film. In which the protesters also burnt posters of the film and raised slogans against Pakistan. According to media reports, the protesters have also criticized the Censor Board and demanded removal of objectionable scenes from the film.
Talking about the star cast of the film, along with Guru Randhawa, the film also stars Isha Talwar, Raj Babbar, Gurshabd Hardeep Gill, Seema Kaushal, Neha Dayal and Manpreet Singh.
