Kolkata : CBI is investigating the role of some junior and senior doctors close to former principal Sandeep Ghosh in the case of rape and murder of a trainee female doctor of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. According to investigators, after the August 9 incident, the picture of organized crime in destroying evidence is becoming clear.
Officials have checked the mobile call details and tower location of the junior and senior doctors on duty on the night of August 8. This will make it clear when, where they were and with whom they were in contact through phone. It is learned that some doctors were present in the seminar hall after the incident. They were involved in collecting samples from around the dead bodies and monitoring post-mortems. Some senior and junior doctors have been questioned in this regard.
Junior doctors had expressed satisfaction over the post mortem.
According to sources, to ensure transparency, five junior doctors themselves wanted to be present during the post-mortem of the victim, which was allowed by the hospital administration. After the post-mortem was completed, the junior doctors did not raise any objection and expressed satisfaction. The document was signed by five doctors.
CBI withdraws plea for re-custody of Sandeep Ghosh
The CBI on Monday withdrew its plea to take Sandeep Ghosh on remand. Sandeep Ghosh and former in-charge of Tala police station Abhijit Mandal appeared virtually in the special court of CBI in Sealdah court. The judge questioned the CBI that if Sandeep can be interrogated in jail then why is there a need to take him into custody. After this question CBI withdrew its petition. The judge assured that if the CBI wants to go to the jail and interrogate, the court will consider its permission. During the hearing, CBI told the court that some important facts have been found during the investigation.
