Ireland men's cricket team created history by defeating South Africa in the second match of the T20 series. The Proteas team, deprived of chasing the target in the T20 World Cup final against India, once again made an old mistake. Against Ireland, the team needed 23 runs from 12 balls.
The team lost five wickets within 10 balls and the match went out of hand. The South African team has fallen apart in its last two important matches. Ireland has achieved its first win against South Africa in seven matches in the T20 format. The two-match series between the two was tied at 1-1. Adair brothers performed brilliantly in the match. Ann Adair scored her first T20 century. Others took four wickets for 31 runs in bowling. Ross Adair was declared man of the match and player of the series.
Apart from scoring fifty-two runs, captain Paul Stirling made a partnership of 137 runs with Ross Adair for the first wicket. Ross Adair scored 100 runs in 58 balls with the help of five fours and nine sixes. Dockrell contributed 20 runs. For the African team that came to chase the target, opener Ryan Risilton scored 36, Reza Hendricks scored 51 and Matthew Britz scored 51 runs, but could only score 185 runs for nine wickets.
