Mahashivratri celebrated in Madhya Pradesh, 7.35 lakh devotees visited Lord Mahakal

Bhopal, March 8 (HS). The festival of Mahashivratri was celebrated with great pomp in Madhya Pradesh on Friday. On this occasion, a huge crowd of devotees gathered in Shiva temples across the state for darshan. From Mahakal Temple in Ujjain to Omkareshwar, Bhojpur Temple in Raisen and Kubereshwar Dham of Pandit Pradeep Mishra in Sehore, lakhs of devotees gathered.

The doors of Jyotirlinga Lord Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain were opened only at 2.30 in the night. Along with Bhasma Aarti, lakhs of devotees started coming to the temple since morning, which will continue till Saturday afternoon i.e. for 44 hours. About 40 thousand visitors visited Bhasmarti in the morning. Till 10 pm, about 7 lakh 35 thousand visitors had darshan of Shri Mahakaleshwar Lord. The process of visitors still coming for darshan continues.

Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee Administrator Sandeep Kumar Soni said that on Friday morning, on the occasion of Mahashivratri festival, the Mangal Pats of Lord Mahakal were opened at 2:30 pm, one and a half hour earlier than usual, for Bhasmarti, after which Bhasmarti was opened from 7:30 am to 08:00 am. :15 Dadyodak Aarti, Bhog from 10:30 to 11:15 After Aarti, official puja-abhishekh of Baba Mahakal was performed by Ujjain Tehsil from 12 noon. At 4 pm, after the puja by Holkar and Scindia State and Panchamrit puja in the evening, hot sweet milk was offered to Lord Mahakal like the daily evening aarti on the festival of Mahashivratri. From 7 pm to 10 pm, Aarti was performed followed by worship of Koteshwar Mahadev seated on the banks of Kotitirtha Kund, Saptdhaanya offering, flower crown adornment (Sehra). The grand consecration, worship and adornment of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar will continue throughout the night from 11 pm on Friday night till 6 am on March 9. In this, through Ekadash-Ekadashani Rudrapath and various mantras, 11 Brahmins will consecrate Devadidev Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar Ji.

There will be Sehra Darshan instead of Bhasma Aarti in the morning.

There will be no Bhasma Aarti in the court of Baba Mahakal on Saturday morning, but during this time Saptadhan Sehra of Baba Mahakal will be decorated. Temple priest Pandit Mahesh Sharma told that in the morning, applying ashes of Baba Mahakal, anointing with juices of five different types of fruits, anointing with Panchamrit puja (101 liter milk, 31 kg curd, 21 kg khandsari, 21 honey, 15 kg ghee). Abhishekam will be done with milk mixed with saffron, Ganga water, rose water, hemp etc. After the consecration, the Lord will be made to wear new clothes and wear the Mukharvind of Saptadhya. After this, Saptdhaanya will be offered, which will include rice, dried moong, sesame, lentils, wheat, barley, sal, dried urad. The priests of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple will adorn Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar and tie a flower crown (Sehra).

Lord Mahakal will be decorated with Chandra Mukut, Chhatra, Tripund and other jewellery. A silver coin and Bilva leaves will be offered as a sacrifice to God. Sehra Aarti of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar will be performed and various sweets, fruits, five dry fruits etc. will be offered to the Lord. After Sehra Darshan, there will be Bhasmarti held once a year at 12 o'clock and after this Bhog Aarti will be done and Shivnavratri will be celebrated. On March 9, after evening puja, makeup, evening aarti and bed aarti, Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar ji will be auspicious. During this period, the doors of Lord Mahakaleshwar will remain open for about 44 hours.

Apart from this, the festival of Mahashivratri was celebrated with enthusiasm across the state. Devotees started arriving at the Shiva temples from early morning, which continued till late evening. Devotees queued up to have darshan at Pashupatinath temple. Devotees started arriving at the world famous Ashtamukhi Lord Pashupatinath temple in Mandsaur as soon as the doors opened at 4 o'clock in the morning during Brahma Muhurta. In the morning Bhavan Pashupatinath Mahadev was anointed with Panchamrit by learned pundits. After this, Aarti was performed after attractively decorating the idol of the Lord. After that at 11 in the morning Lord Pashupatinath was decorated in the form of a groom. The floral turban on the Lord's head was captivating everyone. After adornment, Aarti was performed by offering royal food to the Lord.

Seeing the crowd of devotees on Shivratri, the administration did not allow the devotees to enter the sanctum sanctorum, due to which the devotees worshiped their deity from outside the sanctum sanctorum. A large number of devotees from the district and state including Rajasthan, Gujarat and other states came to see Lord Pashupatinath on the occasion of Shivratri festival. The process of worshiping Lord Pashupatinath which started in the morning continued till night in which more than 50 thousand devotees had darshan of their deity.

The festival of Mahashivratri was celebrated in Maheshwar with religious devotion, faith and belief. Devotees started coming to the Narmada banks from 5 o'clock in the morning to take bath. More than two lakh people took a dip of faith in Narmada at 28 ghats of one and a half kilometer long river Narmada and worshiped their deity Kashi Vishwanath and Rajarajeshwar Temple Shivalayas. Even in Omkareshwar, a crowd of devotees gathered from morning till late night to have darshan of Lord Jyotirlinga.

Here, in Bhopal, Mahashivratri was celebrated with great pomp in the city. Pooja and consecration started in the temples since morning. The Shivalaya Bam-Bam Bhole's cheers echoed. On this occasion, temples were decorated with flowers. The procession of Lord Shiva took place at different places with musical instruments. A grand Shiva procession was taken out at Badwale Mahadev Temple on Friday. Baba went on a tour of Bateshwar city riding on an attractive chariot. Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also reached Barwale Mahadev Temple and offered prayers as per rituals. After this, Shivraj started the Shiva procession by pulling the chariot of the Lord. During this, BJP's Lok Sabha candidate Alok Sharma and Minister Vishwas Sarang were also present.
