Ranchi, 30 September (HS). Former state minister Gopal Krishna Patar alias Raja Peter joined JDU on Monday before JDU's national working president Sanjay Kumar Jha. The National Working President of the party gave primary membership of the party to Raja Peter at the central office of JDU in New Delhi.
Party's National General Secretary Afaq Ahmed Khan, National Secretary Mohammad Nisar, Shailendra Mahato, Sushil Singh were present on this occasion.
It is noteworthy that having faith in JDU National President Nitish Kumar, Raja Peter joined the party. Gopalkrishna Patar alias Raja Peter, who has been working in the political and social field of Jharkhand for more than two decades, had contested elections in Assembly-58 Tamar in the year 2005 on the banner of Bisra Development Committee.
In the by-election held in the year 2008, he defeated Jharkhand Mukti Morcha supremo and the then Chief Minister of Jharkhand Government, Shibu Soren. Won the election from JDU in the 2009 general assembly elections. He was the Minister of Excise and Prohibition in Jharkhand Government in 2010.
