Supreme Court made strict comment on the laddu controversy of Tirupati temple. During the ongoing hearing on the petitions filed regarding the purity of laddus of Tirupati temple, the Supreme Court also said that it is a question of faith of the devotees. During the hearing, the court also expressed disappointment over the timing of releasing the lab report by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Before the bench of Justice Bhushan R Gavai and Justice KV Vishwanathan, Subramanian Swamy's lawyer said that the construction material is going into the kitchen without checking. Investigation revealed. It should be the responsibility of the system to monitor it. Because it is the offering of the deity which is most sacred to the public and the devotees. Let us tell you here that at present the hearing on Tirupati Laddoo controversy is going on in the Supreme Court.
In the petitions filed in the court, there has been a demand for a court monitored investigation into the allegations made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. They claim that animal fat and fish oil were used in making the laddus of Tirupati temple. Amidst all this, the state government has a society in Tirupati to check the quality of ghee used in prasadam and laddu. Senior advocate Siddharth from Tirupati Temple Board and senior advocate Mukul Rohtogi from the state of Andhra Pradesh were present.
Justice BR Gavai questioned senior lawyer Mukul Rohtogi appearing for Andhra Pradesh government.
Responding to the question, he said that when you hold a constitutional post, it is expected that you will keep the gods away from politics. The court also asked Rohatgi whether he had ordered for the SIT, which would have to go to the press before the results came out. You have always been present in such cases, this is the second time.
Rohatgi, on behalf of the Chandrababu Naidu government, argued that these were not genuine applications. The previous government has tried to attack the current government. The Supreme Court also asked what is the evidence that contaminated ghee was used in making laddus. Advocate Siddharth Luthra, appearing on behalf of Tirupati temple, said that we are investigating. On this Justice Gavai said that then what is the need to go to the press immediately. You should respect religious sentiments.
Luthra told the court that people had complained that the taste of laddus was not good. So the court asked whether the laddus with different flavors were sent to the lab to find out whether there was any adulteration in them or not.
After this Justice Vishwanathan asked whether Vivek is not saying that you should vote again? Under normal circumstances we take a second vote. There is no evidence that adulterated ghee was used.
The court was hearing three petitions filed by senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, Rajya Sabha MP and former TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy and historian Vikram Sampath and spiritual speaker Dushyant Sridhar.
