Bhopal, 29 September (HS). Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that in today's era, the field of journalism is changing rapidly. In this era, questions have been raised on the impartiality of journalists due to many reasons. He said that even in changing times, journalists can further strengthen their credibility among the public through their unbiased news.
Minister Vijayvargiya was addressing the national office bearer meeting of the National Union of Journalists (India) in Bhopal on Sunday. On this occasion, discussions were held through a seminar regarding “Changing scenario and challenges of media”. Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Radha Singh and MLA Ramniwas Shah were also present in the program.
Minister Vijayvargiya said that through democracy everyone in the society has got equal rights. Because of this, there are limits to the rights of journalists. He said that along with print and electronic media, social media has also expanded. In this expansion, the dangers in the society regarding the responsibility of news have also increased. He suggested that journalists should prepare their own standards and present ideals in the society.
Vijayvargiya said that after the independence of the country, the newly formed governments have increased appeasement in the country. This created an atmosphere of inequality in the society. After the year 2014, the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi took an important decision by abolishing Article 370 in the national interest. He said that through the Constitution, equal rights have been given to the citizens of every state of the country. Vijayvargiya said that in the last 10 years, India has made remarkable achievements in all fields. Because of this, India's credibility has been strengthened in the world and the world listens to India's voice with full seriousness.
Minister of State Radha Singh said that regional journalism has its own importance. National level news is made from regional news. He also stressed on continuous training of regional journalists. The program was organized by NUJ National President Rash Bihari, National General Secretary Pradeep Tiwari, Dr. Pankaj Shukla of Absolute Gramya, Zonal Coordinator and Media Incharge Dr. B.K. Reena, SOR Supreme Court Ashwani Dubey also addressed. Representatives from 13 states across the country participated in the seminar.
