Holi, the festival of colors, is just around the corner. Various types of delicious dishes are prepared during this festival. Making Gujhiya, a special sweet, is a tradition in many households. Today we will share the recipe of the famous Bengali sweet Laung Lata. This sweet is also popular in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It can be prepared instantly and also has a pleasant clove aroma. Material:
Chopped dry fruits – about half a cup
Flour – 50 grams
Khoya – 25 grams
Coconut powder – half teaspoon
Poppy seeds – half teaspoon
Whole cloves – 5-6
Cardamom – 1-2
Rose water – 1 teaspoon
Ghee – 200 grams
Sugar – 100 grams
Method:
-First of all, sift the flour and add one spoon of melted ghee and minimum water to it and knead a soft dough.
– Fry the khoya in a pan on low flame till it becomes light golden.
– Add coconut, cardamom powder, poppy seeds and chopped dry fruits to khoya and mix well.
– Make syrup by adding sugar and a cup of water in another pan. Cook it until it becomes a string-like consistency.
When the syrup is ready, add rose water to it, mix and turn off the flame.
-To make Clove Lata, take small balls of dough and roll them into small balls.
-Now fill one tablespoon of filling in the rolled roti and close it from all sides and put cloves on top.
– Heat ghee in a pan and fry the cloves until they turn golden.
– After frying, keep the cloves soaked in syrup for 15-20 minutes.
– After getting wet, take them out and keep them in a plate. Enjoy it now.
