Haridwar, 28 September (HS). The Metropolitan Congress Committee paid tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh on Saturday by garlanding him on the occasion of his 118th birth anniversary.
Metropolitan President Aman Garg and Freedom Fighter Successor Cell President Murli Manohar said that with the martyrdom of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, we should take a pledge that wherever there is oppression and injustice, we should fight boldly against it. Former minister Santosh Chauhan and outgoing councilor Rajeev Bhargava said that Bhagat Singh was hurt by the Jallianwala Bagh incident and played an active role in the country's freedom movement.
Senior leader Manoj Saini and Block President Vikas Chandra said that Bhagat Singh worked to raise the slogan of revolution against the British rule. Outgoing councilor Kailash Bhatt and city president Jwalapur Ankit Chauhan said that Bhagat Singh had envisioned a society without exploitation and a socialist republic in which everyone could get equal rights. During this, Metropolitan Congress General Secretary Tarun Vyas, Block President Vimal Sharma Satu, Seva Dal President Ashwin Kaushik etc. were present.
