Mumbai, September 28, (Hindu). To maintain peace and law and order during Durga Puja, an important meeting was organized by Virar Police Station under MBVB Police Commissionerate. The meeting was presided over by Circle 3 Deputy Commissioner Jayant Bajbale, Assistant Police Commissioner Bajrang Desai and Virar Police Station Senior Police Inspector Vijay Pawar, Assistant Police Inspector Santosh Solankar, Virar ATC Police Sub Inspector Anil Londhe. Around 400 people including organizers of Navratri Utsav Mandal and Garba Mandal were present in the meeting held at Ganga Bai Hall, Varad Vinayak. Everyone was given necessary guidelines regarding the rules related to the event.
Senior Police Inspector Vijay Pawar said that this year a total of 2058 public, 70 private pandals, 55 Photo Garba sites are being established under Virar Police Station. From security point of view, it will be mandatory to install CCTV cameras in all pandals. The sound of the sound system will have to be controlled and Dandiya programs will have to end on time. Strict action will be taken against those who violate the rules. Apart from this, suggestion was also given to organize public awareness programs in pandals. Under this, the organizers will have to make the citizens coming to the pandal aware about safety and following the law. The police assured cooperation to the organizers in this public awareness program. Municipal Corporation's Assistant Commissioner Victor D'Souza and other employees were also present in the meeting.
