Dharamshala, September 28 (Hindustan Reporter) The much awaited Kangra Valley Carnival got off to a grand start today at the police grounds in Dharamshala. On Saturday, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Prof. Chandra Kumar inaugurated the first cultural evening of the carnival at Police Ground, Dharamshala. During this, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa welcomed the Agriculture Minister. Agriculture Minister Prof. Chandra Kumar said that the government is working on new dimensions to achieve the goal of making Kangra district one of the best destinations in the country from tourism point of view. Due to this, vibrant events like 'Kangra Valley Carnival' will develop the tourism potential here.
He said that organizing Kangra Valley Carnival will promote programs related to staging and showcasing of art, culture and skills in the tourism capital Kangra, which will boost tourism development in the region. He said that Kangra Valley Carnival will leave an indelible impression on the minds of the tourists visiting here from different parts of the country as well as the state.
People dancing to Pahari-Punjabi tunes
In the first cultural evening, people danced to the Pahari-Punjabi tunes. During this, apart from other presentations, the magic of velvet voice of famous Punjabi singer Maninder Buttar, famous Abhijya Band of Himachal, famous Himachali singer Sunil Masti and Dheeraj Sharma hypnotized everyone. Before this, local artists and groups also presented their performances.
